UnionPay Card Offerings
- Bank of China (Canada) SplendorPlus Debit Card: This card supports three payment networks: Interac, THE EXCHANGE, and UnionPay. It allows for POS transactions, online purchases, ATM cash withdrawals, and QR code payments. Additionally, it offers a dual-currency feature, enabling transactions in both Canadian Dollars (CAD) and Chinese Yuan (RMB) without extra foreign exchange conversion fees. When withdrawing cash or making purchases in China, the transaction is directly deducted from the RMB account. If the RMB account is unavailable or has insufficient funds, the amount is automatically converted from the CAD account at UnionPay’s real-time exchange rate. The card also provides real-time SMS alerts for every transaction, enhancing security and account monitoring.
- Bank of China (Canada) Great Wall International Credit Card: This credit card offers dual-currency functionality, allowing for transactions in both CAD and RMB. It is accepted worldwide at UnionPay merchants, covering over 37 million locations in more than 181 countries and regions. The card settles transactions in RMB when used for purchases in mainland China and in CAD for purchases made outside of mainland China. Notably, no currency conversion fees are charged when using the UnionPay Dual Currency Credit Card at UnionPay merchants around the world.
